Floor Manager / Supervisor

Our Bistro Berlage is open six days a week, from 10:00 AM to 9:00 PM, serving both lunch and dinner. In the summer, we have a large terrace right in front of the Bistro as part of the Beursplein. Bistro Berlage is part of De Beurs van Berlage. The Beurs may not be the newest ‘place to be’ in Amsterdam, but it is certainly one of the most famous. Since 1903, this impressive venue has been an international hotspot. It’s a dynamic location in the heart of the city, where exciting things happen every day—conferences, events, parties, fairs, exhibitions, and much more. All of these take place within a building that spans 16,000 square meters and can host up to 2,600 guests.

Your role

You are the face of Bistro Berlage, and together with the team, you ensure that guests feel welcome and receive guest-oriented service. This is a job where you will undoubtedly work hard, but it also offers a lot of variety and challenges

What You Bring

  • You are a team player who doesn’t shy away from hard work;
  • Affinity and experience in hospitality as a floor manager;
  • Good command of the Dutch and English languages. If you’re not fluent in Dutch yet, don’t worry—we offer a Dutch language course through reginacoeli.nl to help you settle in;
  • Residing in or around Amsterdam;
  • Willingness to work irregular hours and weekends;
  • Passion for your work, and a good sense of camaraderie after closing time.

What Will You Do?

  • Carry out tasks, provide guidance/instructions;
  • Train new employees;
  • Handle guest complaints/questions;
  • Order F&B products;
  • Prepare and execute small-scale events;
  • Guide staff in welcoming guests, taking and processing orders;
  • Clear and remove used dishes, glasses, cutlery, etc.;
  • Perform preparatory tasks (mise en place);
  • Handle financial transactions;
  • Start and end-of-day shifts.
