Restaurant Manager
We are looking to expand our Bistro team. Our Bistro Berlage is part of the Amsterdam Conference Center Beurs van Berlage. Since 1903, this impressive venue has been an international hotspot. We see many growth opportunities for our Bistro and are therefore seeking reinforcement, someone to run the Bistro alongside our current Restaurant Manager. You don’t need to be exactly like our current Manager; we’re looking for someone who can complement them. It’s important that you have an affinity for the style of our Bistro, which serves contemporary classics using local ingredients. We also value someone who gets energized by delivering top-notch service to our guests, making them feel welcome from the moment they arrive! In the summer, we have a large terrace on Beursplein with 120 seats. The Bistro is open seven days a week, from morning until evening.
Your role
As the Restaurant Manager of our Bistro (or Assistant Manager looking to grow into the role of Restaurant Manager), your intrinsic passion and expertise will enable you, together with an enthusiastic Bistro team, to provide our guests with an exceptional experience! In this role, you will share operational and financial responsibilities with the current Restaurant Manager while also working hands-on within the team. Tasks and responsibilities will be divided between the two Managers based on skills. You will oversee five floor managers, and the total Bistro team consists of 20 colleagues (both permanent and flexible staff). Along with our Bistro kitchen brigade, you will ensure that we deliver service and quality aligned with our vision. Flexible working hours are part of this role due to the responsibilities and tasks involved. The Restaurant Manager (or Assistant) reports directly to the F&B Director.

- You understand that feedback is crucial for maintaining quality and developing staff, and your communication and leadership style can integrate a feedback culture into daily operations;
- Under pressure, during peak times or setbacks, you remain visibly calm and know which priorities and efforts are needed to exceed our guests’ expectations.
